SOULFLY Bassist Severs Ties With PORCH Studio

March 13, 2008

SOULFLY bassist Bobby Burns has severed his business relationship with Tim Lau and the Porch Studio in Orlando, Florida.

Commented Burns: "I decided about a week ago to part ways with Tim and the Porch Studio. I have nothing bad to say, and the only explanation I want to give is that we just don't see eye to eye on prices and the general business of the studio. I'll be working with a new studio in Orlando pretty soon. I'll keep ya posted! Other than that, I'm in Atlanta at the moment writing with LOVE SAID NO. The music is coming along really, really great and I couldn't be happier! Very rockin' stuff.

"The recording part of the SOULFLY record has been wrapped up for a few weeks, and it has been sent to England for Andy Sneap to mix. Andy is really great at what he does and we're excited to see what he adds to the SOULFLY sound!"

The upcoming sixth studio album from SOULFLY was recorded over the course of several weeks this fall with Lau engineering. In some recent interviews, Max has let the tribe know that they can expect the forthcoming release to be completely ready by late summer this year. Working titles for some of the 13 songs which were tracked include "Burndown", "Enemy Ghost", "Axis of Wrath", and "Blood, Fire, War, Hate".

SOULFLY's upcoming CD will feature guest appearances by MORBID ANGEL frontman David Vincent and THROWDOWN singer Dave Peters.
